Some of the most common reasons people seek physiotherapy treatment include:
Why chose Cranbrook Physio Clinic or Kimberley Rehabilitation Centre? We have worked diligently to provide "big city" services with old-fashioned small town caring attitude. We are innovators in physiotherapy treatment. We were the first physiotherapy clinic in British Columbia to integrate the use of Whole Body Vibration as a component of our preventative and rehabilitation programs. Our professionals care about the Kootenays and are always looking for ways to "keep the community moving"! How should I dress?Normal dress is appropriate. We will provide you with freshly washed assessment gowns or shorts if needed. Your physiotherapist will complete a thorough assessment and this often requires a scan of the joints above and below the affected areas as well as the spinal region that supplies the nerve messages to the region. Comfortable gym clothing is recommended if you will be working out in our fully equipped gym. How many visits? The number of visits you will require depends on a number of factors. Some of these factors include.
Your physiotherapist will discuss treatment goals with you and the typical time frames to expect for your recovery. Why is physiotherapy a good choice?Physiotherapists are uniquely qualified to assess your specific injury and guide your body's natural healing responses to a speed your recovery. They use a number of drug-free, pain relieving treatment options for a more natural recovery. They are able to assess other factors that may affect your recovery both positively and negatively and they involve you in the process through clear communication and education. Physiotherapy is a "hands on" profession and will help you to get moving again. Do I need a Doctor's referral? Our Physiotherapists work closely with the local physicians and surgeons. You may need a doctor's referral to initiate a Work Safe BC injury claim, ICBC claim or to receive reimbursement from your group benefits provider for physiotherapy services. You do not need a doctor's referral to be assessed and treated by a physiotherapist. It is important for the long term success of most orthopedic surgeries to receive expert advise about your rehabilitation. Ask your surgeon to refer you to physiotherapy for that follow-up advise. What do Physiotherapists do?Our experienced physiotherapists have specific skills to maximize your recovery. By offering a diversified range of treatment options and hands on care we ensure our clients get moving faster. Our team uses a blend of manual therapy in conjunction with specific strengthening exercises and movement/ balance retraining. |
